Jugiong Jerseys

2007 marks the 75th anniversary since Jugiong Jerseys was established. From a very humble beginning Jugiong has grown to be one of the largest registered herds of Jerseys in the country today. Operated by the 3rd and 4th generation of the Nicholson Family, Bill & Evelyn, Phil & Amy, Pat, Brendon.

Based on Grangelea and Francliff bloodlines in the early days, and saturated in North American genetics since the late 80's production has continued to climb to its present level. Last season 485 cows averaged 6472 litres, 4.7%, 296 kg butterfat, 3.7%, 239 kgs protein, 299days.

Jugiong is currently milking 550 cows and is on target to exceed last seasons average.

While production has always been the main objective, Jugiong has been very successful in the show ring and in On Farm Challenges. Exhibiting the Champion Cow at International Dairy Week in 2006, many Shepparton National Champions and Champion at the Victorian Autumn Fair every show since 1993. Jugiong has also represented the Northern Club on many occasions in the Great Southern Challenge.
