2009 jersey extravaganza & northern Lights sale

Jersey Extravaganza - 19th - 22nd May 2009
The Northern District Jersey Breeders Club have been fortunate to be selected to host the Inaugural Jersey Australia Annual General Meeting & Jersey Extravaganze in Echuca on May 19th-22nd 2009. This annual event will be rotated each year to different club areas within Australia and on this occasion will incorporate the annual Northern Lights Sale, a premier event on the jersey breed's calendar. The 2009 program will be held over four days and attendance will be drawn from all areas nationally. The agenda incorporates farm and herd inspections, a major cattle sale, official and social dinners and functions together with Federal and State Annual General Meetings.
The Northern Lights Sale - where we started....
The concept of an annual sale was first suggested following the success of the 2007 Northern Lights Sale and Jerseys...light years ahead three day program. Conducted by the Northern District Jersey Breeders Club as part of the Australian Jersey Breeders Society, Victorian Branch, Annual General Meeting agenda in May 2007, the program was hailed as a great success by all. Encouraged by discussion with neighbouring clubs later the same year, it was decided to conduct a sale in the north of Victoria on an annual or bi-annual basis. Promotion of the jersey breed and providing the opportunity for breeders to come together and highlight the benef its of the jersey breed to the dairy industry in general, was a driving factor in the decision. The Northern District Jersey Breeders Clubs look forward to future sales of elite jersey pedigrees and the support of the wider dairy community.

Jersey's...light years ahead three day program incorporating the
Victorian Branch, Annual General Meeting.
The event was
hailed as a great success with over 200 people attending the sale and the following program.
