The
annual Goulburn Murray Calf Show was held on Monday 31st March, 2008 at the
Numurkah Showgrounds. The Calf Show offered the opportunity for juniors to learn
and build on their animal handling and show skills with a strong emphasis on
participation. Some juniors were not from farms and the day gave them the
chance to experience the industry. Participants and animal entries from
several breeds were among the entrants. Full details can be found

April 1st saw Jersey breeders from across
Victoria and southern New South Wales converge on Girgarre for the second annual
Northern Lights Sale. Staged by the Northern District and Goulburn Murray
Jersey clubs the much anticipated sale was an outstanding success averaging
$3176. Many complementary comments on the great line up of in milk cows
and high potential heifers were heard around the sale shed before the sale got
underway. Top price was $6,100 for both Meldan Brookbi Babe ET and
Rowantree Futurity Narcissus. Babe sold account Brendan and Melissa Scott
and with huge bull mother interest was snapped up by the Dalbora Genetics
Syndicate from Tennyson. Selling account Rowantree Jerseys, Narcissus had
the crowd talking and will be heard more of, she went on to sell to Jugiong
Jerseys, Girgarre. Full sale details can be found

Preparations are well underway for this year’s Northern Lights Sale
on Tuesday 1st April 2008. The sale will see elite pedigree
Jerseys go under the hammer together with international and
Australian embryo
packages available for bids in the silent auction. A
number of hard to acquire semen packages will also auctioned
including Lester, Berretta, Taranak, Legion, Parade and Glenwood.
Selections are quite exciting with an outstanding lineup in the
catalogue, including something for everyone!
The long running Goulburn Murray
Calf Show will be held on the 31st March 2008. Farm visits across both the
Goulburn Murray and Northern District Jersey Cattle Club's can be arranged 31st
March - 2nd April. Following the sale, the dinner and social gathering

get some pedigree's coming in now. ALL animals will be inspected prior to
being catalogued and inspections have started. Get on board early,

Yes, its on again. Following
the success of the 2007 Northern Lights Sale, another multi vendor sale will be
conducted. Jersey Breeders, here's your chance to promote your herd.
Northern Lights Sale 2008 will be held April 1st, 2008 at Jugiong Jerseys,
Girgarre. We are now calling for pedigree's and expressions of interest.
As with last year, preference will be given to young in milk or close to calving
animals. If you have something to offer or would like a member of the sale
committee to assist with selection of an animal from you herd please let us
know. Realising that many people will also want to support the AGM Sale in
the Western District, as a number of northern breeders also intend to, we won't
be putting pressure on possible vendors outside the north of the state, but
would love to have as many as possible involved. For more information
